(RL, a little more description would be great, just so we can identify who your character is talking to. I believe everyone's characters are around the same age (minus Kotir whose age even I'm not to sure on), and aside from Shad, Kalvin, Reg and Kotir they are all females (At least I think Kotir's a male ... *runs from the murderous Kotir who plans on hurting her for that comment*) xD I love making fun of Kotir, it's so much fun. Cept for when you get hurt :/ )
He chuckled, it was a pleasant sound. "My dear girl, I do assure you that I mean you no harm. My name is Rabastan Coil. I am a merchant from Laosn, I saw you dash out and thought something might be wrong." He said to her, dismounting from his gelding to prove he meant no harm. "Might I enquire as to why you were riding so frantically from town?" He asked, his voice showing concern. He shifted from foot to foot nervously, disliking this position of weakness.

Tes stood up and laughed merrily, "Perhaps I will, Thanks again." she purred. She leaned down gracefully and pressed her lips on his cheek, as was her usual parting gesture. She had really wished she hadn't though... from that position she could easily smell the blood pulsing from his jugular vein. Her eyes dilated and her heart crashed in her chest, the reaction of a predator. She paused only for a moment, but in that moment a life and death decision was made. It was Kavlins lucky day....She did not move at once, instead she whispered in his ear, "You are very lucky, it seems your Norsla blood has saved you today." she breathed, the scent of blood had long sense been infused on her breath. Then she backed off quickly nearly stumbling, it was the only ungraceful movement she had made in the tavern. Her jaw was tight with restraint and wild conflict and desperation flashed in her eyes. Tes pulled her cloak tighter around her and was out the door in a flash, she nodded over to Sky letting her know she would be back to talk later. Once she was outside she let the snarl that had been building, rip from her chest. It was such an unearthly sound, certainly not a sound you expect to hear from such a delicate young female. Her breath came in wild gasps as she fell to her knees clutching her sides. Control yourself! You will not harm anyone here, you can't! Dammit, why are you so stupid. It was reckless to keep from hunting for so long. CALM DOWN! It took everything she had in her not to rush back into the tavern and sink her teeth into the flesh of her unsuspecting victim. No!! You can't! she growled, but her the monster within her only replied with a light chuckle Why not? You wouldn't be the first of your kind to kill in public, and I'm sure you could escape before anything can be done. No, please don't! I swore I would not fail, no more innocent blood will be shed...Think of Kado! she pleaded, the monster within fell silent and cringed when she mentioned Kado's name. She sighed in relief and leaned back against the building, her pulse still racing and her jaw clenched tight. There, see...no problem. This is nothing I can't handle...I'll need to go hunting, and soon! she convinced herself, her blood lust somewhat under control. Mingling with humans proved to hold many problems for Northerners. She had not been joking when she said it was Kavlins Norsla blood that had saved him. During that split second of weakness its sour pungent smell, the smell of pure darkness, repulsed her enough to pull away. Tes held up her wrist and examined it, she frowned at how sickly and thin it looked. That should have been her first warning of the need to hunt, how could she have been so stupid as to ignore it? She closed her eyes and sighed once more, cursing the blood that ran through her veins and wishing for the millionth time she had been born as an Easterner. Her blood lust wasn't driven by by hunger, nor thrist...it was driven by the wild blood that filled her veins, the desire to kill. The need to feel blood oozing out of her kill, its smell...she shuddered, she would probably need to take out one of those farmers sheep as much as she hated too. Perhaps if she left payment? No that would be too strange, it might give her away. With her restraint and composure restored she rose carefully and prepared herself to re enter the inn. As long as she didn't get very close, the humans would be safe. (I have to go, I'll add on the rest later.....) *edit* I added on the rest

Shad jerked awake as the golden eyed girl burst out of the tavern, He mentally cursed himself for falling asleep. What were you thinking! You could have been killed before you even knew anyone was around! The one thing he truly faulted himself on was the fact that when he fell asleep, he heard nothing and was aware of nothing. He nearly jumped out of his skin when she let out a roar. He felt his eyes grow wide as understanding dawned on him. The reason she was so graceful...why her eyes were such an awesome gold.... He pushed the thoughts away and prepared himself for a fight although he didn't figure she'd attack. She'd had plenty of opportunity and victims inside the tavern.
He placed his hand on his dagger, but continued to sit quietly, watching her in fascination as she sank to the ground and tried to regain control. She was mesmerizing and he was male. A lonely one as well. Stop it, Shad! She's way out of your league anyway you go about it! he growled to himself. He quickly clamped a lid on the emotions and settled back into the wall as the girl stood and turned as if to go back inside.

Tes's entire body trembled lightly, her hand was wrapped so tightly around her wrist it was drawing blood. "Calm, calm....you don't want to hurt anyone..." she whispered to herself. Tes had to take small steps towards the tavern, stopping every once in a while, desensitizing herself to the intoxicating scents within. She was only a few feet from the door way when she took a deep breath, the blood of a Folska filled her breath. Her sharp eyes darted around the darkness, though she didn't expect to see him. She shifted nervously, instinctively moving into a half crouching position. Had he seen her outburst? And was it the same strange Folska that she had seen in the tavern? She tested the air with her gifts, they had intensified with the sudden rush of adrenaline she received. She found herself once again puzzled by the reading, there was no strong intent to attack, nor will to kill. Tes straightened up, eying the darkness curiously. Perhaps....I was lucky...maybe....my outburst was unseen.... Tes gave her head a shake to clear her thoughts, if there was no immediate threat she would need to hurry and get inside. To keep her blood lust under control she would need to focus on only one thing at a time, and that would be talking to the young servant girl preferably without ripping her throat out. Tes pulled the cloak of her hood up and once again entered the tavern, motioning Sky with a gentle flick of her wrist.

Kavlin blinked, surprised, at the girl's behavior. It happened and was over too quickly for him to react. Reg had never acted like that! Granted, Reg was more scavenger than anything else. Who knew what Tes' animal form was, and the instincts that came with it. 'Reg?' he tested the connection, wondering if Reg had felt the danger. 'She's dangerous. I'm sorry, Kavi. I miscalculated the risk associated with her.' Reg sounded angry and frustrated. 'You didn't know,' Kavlin assured him, not that he expected it to make Reg feel better. 'Are you hungry? I have food, and I'm ready to go home.' 'Yes. Get me on your way out.' Patting his pocket once to be sure the food was there, he stood and navigated to the edges of the room, glancing once around the room before leaving. He would likely not be able to afford a real meal here again, nor the risk of being caught. For just one night, however, it had felt nice to sit in the tavern like a normal person, never mind the suspicious glares he got on the way. He crept from the tavern, passing the Voskon, Tes, as she entered the tavern again. She looked pale and preoccupied. 'Here, Kavi.' Kavlin looked to the right, and out from the shadows came a small agouti rat. He reached his arm down and the rat jumped, latching onto his sleeve with tiny nails and climbing up his arm. Reg clambered onto his shoulder, tucking himself between Kavlin's neck and jaw, tail around the front of his neck to keep his balance. Kavlin stroked his hands through the coarse fur, pressing a soft kiss to his fuzzy side. 'Time to rest, Reggie.'

Bad Kotir. Lying to poor upset Hester. Hester glared at him. She felt hot tears pricking her eyes, her emotions finally beginning to leak through the barrier she'd slammed around them. "Why would you care? You're a merchant. I've got no money to give you." She was very aware that she was being rude to a stranger, but everything was rushing past her in a blur. Hester hated not being able to fight, and to have adventures, discover new places. She hated it. She wanted so desperately to learn how to use a sword... To be like the heroes from the stories. She wanted to go see what lay in the mountains. Hester loved the mountains... Everything was so clear, so free. She wanted to gallop through endless plains of grass with Storm, with a herd of wild horses. She wanted to be in a battle, save people. And instead, she was stuck helping her father make horseshoes. Horseshoes. Hester was a perfectly happy person, with friends she loved and a (mostly) supportive family. But for maybe not the first time, she was beginning to have thoughts about running away. How would she survive? That brought everything back to the weapons training problem. She felt a tear slide down her face. Why was everything so d**n impossible? Her eyes focused back on Kotir/Rabastan. "You may inquire as to why I was galloping out of the city, but that does not mean you will get an answer. You say you're a merchant, but for all I know you're a bandit." She glared at him for a moment longer. "My older sister is a cow." She said abruptly. "That's whats wrong." She backed up Storm another step. "You say you're a merchant. Since when are Norsla merchants?"

Tes didn't even glance in Kavlin's direction when she walked by, her one track mind far to focus on the tasks ahead. She did not miss the strange scent she detected earlier however, Almost Voskon...but so little, its impossible! she thought in the back of her mind as she approached Sky. She put on an friendly mask and reached out to help her gather up a few plates and glasses left by other customers to give her a hand. It took a ceen eye to see the muscles tensing along her neck, or the way she carefully angled her body away from the young girl. "Is it a good time to talk? I would like to discuss if a few arrangements can be made...." she whispered in her soft purring voice.

(*giggles* Lying is nothing to Kotir. Not if it helps him get what he wants.)
Rabastan pulled his robe off, showing he had no weapons on him (that she could see). He spun around, his long black hair fanning out. "As you can see I am unarmed. If I were a bandit I wouldn't have bothered getting off my horse, I would have continued chasing you and simply attacked." He told her, his voice smooth. "To my knowledge there are many Norsla merchants, although they tend to deal in the darker side of business." He returned to his horse and threw his robe over the front of the saddle. "If you like I can show you my store, it is back inside the town so there will be others around if you still don't trust me." He told her, pulling the reins over the geldings head so he could lead him back.
--
Sky looked up at Tes and nodded. "Of course Ma'am." She said, "If you like we can go out back, my father tends to conduct business there rather then in the inn." She said, motioning to a door hidden in the corner of the room, just behind the bar.
(Edited to add Sky's response because I didn't see it sooner xD )

Tes smiled again, "Thank you, that would be wonderful." she sighed. Tes floated across the room and through the doorway. She settled gracefully on a chair and waited patiently for Sky to join her. Her request was not much, or at least not much is her mind, but it was enough to get her kicked out of many taverns in the past. "Perhaps I should start by asking for much traffic you get here....espeically at night...."she started lightly.

Sky thought about the question as she closed the door. "Night time is our busiest. We get on average 50 people in here over the night. Mostly non-humans, Cally is the only regular human who comes here. Mornings are the slowest, it's mainly the people who stay overnight who comes for breakfast, and lunchtimes vary." Sky told her, fetching the pitcher of water and two glasses from a bench on the side of the room. Bringing them over to Tes, she filled the two glasses and placed the pitcher on the small table between the chairs before sitting herself.

Tes's perfect smiled wavered a bit, "Really? Hmm....." she mused, brushing her fingers around the rim of the glass. Thats not good...but theres still hope, I probably shouldn't ask about Voskons should I? "I was hoping to board here for a few days...I was hoping for a nice private room. Money is no issue..." she chuckled, referring to the large amount of coin she had already spent here.

Sky nodded. "We have several rooms available at the moment. Currently there is only Cally staying here, and she usually takes the room closest to the front, so the rooms to the back will be the most private. You can take your choice of what floor you want the room on. Prices start at 10 bronze for a basic room up to 25 bronze for our best." She explained.

SaRheia blinked. Company? She was taken aback. What kind of person would so kindly ask an assassin for company? It was odd, to be sure. She sized up the yellow-haired woman. The lady couldn't have been much older than Rheia, if at all. Human, she was almost sure. Her blue eyes were innocent, open. If Rheia had any lingering thoughts that the woman would have any work for an assassin, that first look into her eyes banished them. Company, she thought again, almost dismayed. She was working--or trying to. The noblewoman was not going to help her attract the type of person who would seek an assassin. Still, she had bought her dinner. Rheia was in no position or mood to turn down kindness. She threw her cloak over her arm, sheathed her knife in her boot, gathered up her meal, and moved over to sit at the table with the noble woman. She took a chair that kept her back facing a wall. Unsure at first of what to say, Rheia simply settled for truth. "Thank you for the meal. I was...shocked, by your kindness, to say the least. Few would have done the same." Company, she thought again, this time amused.

Alya smiled and thought to herself 'Finally i might get some help with finding the truth behind my brothers dissapearance.'
alya turned her thoughts back to SaRheia. "are you in town long?"

SaRheia shrugged slightly. "I'm only newly arrived from Laosn. Whether or not I stay depends on whether or not I can find work." Whether or not this city has people who need killing, items that need stealing, aspiring adventurers who needed someone who knew their way around all different types of weapons, she thought. Whether or not word of the Donovans has reached the ears of the guards of this city. Whether or not there's going to be men hunting me down to kill me or not. She sighed, hating that there was so much uncertainty in her life now.
