Tes stepped back with an excited snarl, she was still poised and ready to plunge in again if Traf needed her but from what she could tell he handled it well. Her shoulder trembled a little and blood was still following freely from it, she looked down and licked at the wound. It wasn't that deep but it did sting a little. She wasn't looking forward to seeing it in her human form but she was a fast healer, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad. The injury's on Kijah were far more frightening to her, was she injured so badly that she had to back down? Thats not in a normals wolves spirit, it must be bad.... she thought, glancing over to Traf. She hesitated for only a moment before chirping to Traf and galloping after Kijah, he should be able to take the kill down by himself. Already the bull elks started to slow, his thrashing less wild. As soon as she hit the opening of the wood she phased back with a wince. Tes pressed the palm of her hand to her shoulder attempting to staunch the blood flow. She stopped for a moment to tend to her wound as best she could, wriggling her shoulder checking to see how far it would allow her to move. Tes sighed as the blood slowed to a small trickle and continued her search for Kijah, finding her beneath a tree. She knelt beside her with unconscious grace, forgetting that not even an hour ago she considered the younger girl an enemy. Without a word she reached out feeling along her shoulder shaking her head and sighing as she did. "You did a number on yourself didn't you...." she whispered. The wound was far worse than she imagine, and older too. "This is not new...is it?" she frowned, sitting back watching Kijah closely. Are you serious Tes? You are not thinking about healing her, what do you have a death wish? You just used that on Kavlin earlier, and do you honestly want to favor your shoulder for the next few weeks? This is no normal bruising! -sigh- You remember what Edward used to say....self second remember? Besides...I do have very high pain tolerance...she argued with herself. Tes shook her head and sighed heavily, "Do you want me to fix it?" she decided ignoring the common sense side of her practically screaming in her brain.

Kijah opened her eyes, slightly startled, this is not good, she is so out of it she didn't even notice Tes come near. This was indeed strange to Kijah, she knew the healers back home couldn't even heal like this, their treatments took days sometimes. The fastest healings took lots of energy, the elders in her pack had long forgotten that art.
"You can do that? This isn't all one fresh injury Tes, Its been a couple weeks. I thought it was healed enough for the hunt today."
She wanted the pain to ease, but wasn't sure if Tes could handle so much of a energy drain right after the hunt. She looked back up at Tes and gave a half hearted laugh.
"Traf's gunna kill me for this one for sure."
The pain and exhaustion was becoming too much for her. She was losing focus on things, she just wanted to....sleep. She closed her eyes and leaned her back once more, sleep would help her, wouldn't it?

Tes shook her head and sat back on her heels, her hand was pressed on Kijah's forehead. "Passing out would not be desirable, do you want Traf to have to drag you back?" she grumbled softly, more to herself seeing as Kijah was not really with her at the moment. You should really wait to eat, you'll be almost completely drained other wise. I can handle it, its Traf I'll need to worry about. Besides this gives me a good reason to leave if they figure it out before I go... she thought with a sigh. Tes reached forward and flicked Kijahs flaming hair away from her shoulder and carefully positioned her hands so they flattened out over it. Tes glanced over her shoulder and shook her head, Dammit Tes...what on earth's gotten into you... she sighed, hoping Traf didn't have too much trouble with the bull. She let out a breath and closed her eyes, drawing her thoughts away from the kill. She would need to be calm if she wanted this to even remotely work. Just as the night before a low humming sound flowed from her throat and slowly but steadily grew into a comforting purr. The thrumming sound pulsated down her arms and into her hands steadily drawing the pain from Kijah's small body. Tes winced as the first wave of pain passed over her body into her shoulder. The inflammation just started to go down on Kijah's shoulder when the worst of the pain washed over Tes. She bit her lip in order not to cry out as red marks, almost like welts bubbled under her skin moving across her chest and spreading out over the shoulder. "I wouldn't be surprised if she torn her ligament too, OWW!" she snarled under her breath. All at once the pain became too much, it was the fresh injury that had pulled away from Kijah joining the new and old wounds across Tes's body. She dropped her hands and fell back, holding herself up against the tree. Ow Dammit! You've done too much idiot... she gasped in her head, energy nearly completely drained...she wished she had that flask on her but it was still with Kavi. Tes lifted her head and looked over Kijah, from what she could see the new wound was completely gone not even the slightest sign left over, but the old one was only half healed. She shook her head and sighed waiting for Kijah to come too, hopefully Traf wouldn't be too angry now.

Every time the elk thrashed, Traf summed up the strength to bite down harder until he tasted blood. There was no way the animal was going to survive its numerous wounds, though he didn’t relish the thought of tracking it through the woods until it finally succumbed. Without warning, the elk slumped down as if defeated, but he didn’t yet release. He’d made that mistake before.
As suddenly as it had stopped, the bull, as if it had been waiting for enough energy, tossed its head wildly. It was hard enough to lift Traf off the ground completely. The bull trumpeted loudly, the sound vibrating through him since it’s mouth was closed. Then the elk’s front legs collapsed, and Traf hit the ground with enough force to send a shock all the way up from his paws to his shoulders. He shut his eyes against the pain, and in that moment, the elk fell to the ground. And on top of him.
He yelped in surprise and pain, the sound muffled by the elk's nose. It was a struggle to maintain his hold on the bull when he himself could hardly breathe under it's weight. Traf heard the bull’s great heart strain to give a handful of shuddering beats before it stopped. He continued to hold on for a few more moments until his jaw began to ache, then slowly released the elk’s muzzle. It didn’t get back up. With a soft whining sound, he squirmed out from underneath the elk, gasping for air once he was free.
He slid his tongue along his lips, licking the blood off. He looked around with a beaming wolfy grin and realized, to his dismay, that he was alone. At first, he was disappointed. He’d wanted to share this moment with people he cared about, especially Kijah and his kitten, even though he'd been nearly crushed by an almost half-ton elk and was slightly embarrassed.
Suddenly, panic spiked through him. How badly are they hurt? With that thought, he dashed into the tree line without giving the elk another thought. It was difficult to find them with the scent of elk’s blood thick on his fur, and he was panting from his frantic search when he finally came across them. His heart sank when he took in the sorry states they were in. Tes was covered in nasty wounds, bracing herself against a tree. She looked far worse than she should have. And Kijah, his sweet Kijah, was on the ground, and appeared to be unconscious, her skin pale.
The elk forgotten, he ran to Kijah’s side, shifting in motion. The process left him slightly dizzy and he knew his body would soon be running on empty, if it wasn’t already. He crouched down next to Kijah, putting his hand on her forehead. He said her name a few times, trying to bring her out of it, his voice thick with worry. “Kijah, sweetheart, wake up.” The black and blue skin along his left side sent throbbing aches through his entire chest and abdomen, and he briefly wondered if he had a couple broken ribs. He’d been through worse, however, as his many scars, white against the tawny brown of his skin, attested to. He shoved the pain to the back of his mind and glanced over his shoulder at Tes, his eyes softening when he took in the sight of her.
He stared at Tes, his face contorted with worry, almost feeling guilty. He had called them his pack, his sister and his mate, and he had let this happen to him. As much as he doubted they’d enjoy him attempting to protect them all the time, it still bothered him that he had done such a poor job of it.

Kijah heard someone calling her faintly. I can't hear you, why won't you speak up? The voice was so far away she couldn't even tell who it was. They were touching her, but who were "they"? All she wanted to do was sleep, she was tired, why couldn't they understand that. Traf! The voice was clearer now. It was him, he was touching her, he was worried.
"Traf.." It was but a whisper, it was all she could utter. She felt like she was drunk and needed to sleep. He wanted her to wake up though, he sounded desperate. She forced her eyes open, but they were heavy. It was a hard fight not to close them to go back to sleep. Her shoulder felt better too. The sharp screaming pain was gone, but there was still a dull pain. She had pushed too much hunting. She should have known better.
Her body was heavy and she felt extremely drained, as much as she wanted to be in his arms right now she had to deal with just leaning into his touch, it was all she could manage at this point. Her mind was clearing some, enough to where she saw Tes's face flash into her mind. Tes had wanted to help her, but it had sounded risky.
"Traf....Tes, is she...?" Damn she hated this, she couldn't even think straight enough yet to talk decent.

The moment Kijah moved of her own accord, Traf let out the breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. He drew her gently into his arms as she spoke, shifting so that he sat on the ground with his knees bent, Kijah lying across his lap. His arm cradled her back as he stared down at her, concerned. He couldn’t understand why she was like this unless she’d been seriously, seriously hurt.
His free hand gently pushed her hair away from her face, brushing against her cheeks gently. His fear had all but banished his own pain. “Kijah,” he said softly, “stay with me sweetheart.” He kept her close, but his touch was gentle, worried he’d aggravate whatever wounds she had.
He glanced over and up at Tes, eyes narrowing as he studied her wounds. “Kitten, by the gods, how many times did you get hit?”

Tes leaned against the tree glad of Traf's presence. She grinned at him, but her brow was soaked with sweat and their was obvious pain in her eyes. "You got him didn't you? Great job!" she crowed hoarsely, still delighted that he managed to bring the elk down despite her pain. Tes slide down the tree and sighed heavily as Traf draped Kijah across his lap. The effects of her healing would not be the same as it had been on Kavi, he was human and his body was not accustomed to healing that quickly. Kijah was probably just drained from phasing and hunting. Tes grimaced in pain again, her shoulder was pure agony now. She winced again at Traf's words, "I...didn't get hit...much...I just..fixed her..." she whispered, almost sheepishly.

Kijah sighed as Traf laid her down in his lap, his touch was comforting. He was so gentle rubbing her face she could have stayed there for hours. She couldn't however, she desperatly needed to eat, it was the only way to knock her out of this stupor.
She gave a weak laugh and reached up and touched Traf on the face, "Trust me love, I'm not going anywhere for a long time. I do however need to eat, I am drained, shifted a bit too much today without eating I guess." She looked over at Tes and cringed when she saw her shoulder. It was absolutly horrid, and yet Tes had taken that pain from her so willingly. Hard to believe only hours before she was expecting to get a swift bite from the lioness for making a fool of herself. "Tes, thank you, you didn't have to do this you know."
She looked back up at Traf, "I'm not sure of how much of it, but I must take credit for some of that wound on her shoulder. She helped me, I couldn't even put weight on it, the pain was so much I couldn't even hold form. All I could do was back out into the woods. I didn't want anyone to worry over my being gone, so I barked at Tes to let her know where I was going. I'm ok now, I just really should eat soon, but by the gods my head hurts."

Traf sighed deeply when Tes spoke. “I’m not sure whether to thank you or scream at you, kitten.” It was the truth. The man was concerned for both sister and mate and wanted to give her hell for expending the energy and taking on injuries when she was just as or perhaps even more in need of nourishment than they were. The wolf recognized the plight of another wolf, and his mate to boot, as of much more importance than some lioness.
The man won out; his sister was hurt and he didn’t like it, but he would at least save the yelling for later. It would probably sink in better when she wasn’t in so much pain. Then again, a sharper mind might just mean she ignores me, he thought, slightly amused.
He looked back down at Kijah, glad that at least some good had come of it. He did always try to see the positive side of things, though it wasn’t easy in this case. Sighing, he slipped both of his arms around Kijah, embracing her just a little tighter knowing that she wasn’t as injured as he’d first thought. It put pressure on his ribs, and, pained, he sucked in his next breath sharply and winced. Definitely broken, he thought, irritated. Could be worse. Could have been a limb. There was the positive side yet again.
“The meal was hard won, we should go enjoy it,” he said, sighing. As much as he regretted having to do it, he relaxed his hold on Kijah so she could get up off of him.

Kijah looked at Traf with concern, she heard him draw that sharp breath, the last time she heard that was the time Asha had attacked her mum and broke a few ribs. Her mum tried to hide it but Kijah knew her, and she knew that it caused her a great deal of pain. Traf no doubt would shrug it off not wanting anyone to know how hurt he was. She will have to ask later tonight however, she knows he will do the same to her.
She slowly sat up, her head was still swimming. She had to brace against the tree and balance herself, yep, walking out there was going to be just peachy. She was going to have to have help from him just to even get out there, she looked up at the sky trying to get a bearing on the time, this day was lasting too long, she needed sleep and soon.
"Traf, I am going to need a bit of help getting out there, I am still dizzy from all this, and otherwise i would probably end up back at shads before I made it to the kill the way my head is." She looked down and smiled at him, "and I must say, I kind of like the company here better. No offense meant to Shad, but still."

Traf maneuvered carefully to his feet, gritting his teeth against the pain and clinging to the tree as he pulled himself up to minimize the aggravation to the wounded area. Once he was steady on his feet, he slid his arm as best he could around Kijah, lending her his strength and stability should she need it to keep her feet. He might have been in a little pain, but it wasn't weakening him. He held out his other hand to Tes, offering her assistance should she need it.
"I think I know what you mean. It's nice not having to get one's hackles up every five minutes as a new Voskon wanders in," he said jokingly to Kijah, laughing softly. "Wonder just how many more are moving in while we're away." He smiled.

(Wow...I don't even remember really doing my last post. XD Heh, I was really out of it last night)
Tes ducked her head to avoid Traf's gaze and steadied herself against the tree, the pain in her shoulder was blinding. "Some gratitude would be nice, I fixed your mate. You shouldn't give a damn about me." she snarled adding a touch of teasing to her voice for Traf's sake. She took a deep breath through her mouth and pushed away from the tree, testing the limits to her shoulder. She winced and bit her lip to keep from yelping, the smallest movement sent new waves of pain through her body. Alright, take it easy. This was your stupid decision so suck it up. she snapped at herself straightening up to watching Traf ease Kijah up. She frowned again as he flinched as well, eying his rib cage carefully. Tes shook her head and growled under her breath at the thought passing through her head, Theres no way in hell you could fix him too and still be alive after wards. He's a tough wolf, I'm sure he'll sort himself out...I take a look at it when we get back to the cave, but other than that unless you want to die, don't even think about 'fixing it'. Your were stupid to even get this far, you are in no shape to phase...probably not even for a week..Damn I'm stupid...Tes cursed herself quietly and pressed her hand to her forehead, it was feverishly hot. She twitched at the sound of Traf's voice and sighed as he reminded her of the kill waiting for them. She would most likely not be able to eat in this shape, but that was fine. It wasn't hunger that had plagued her earlier, it was more the urge to actually kill. It had been blood she had craved not flesh, so she would manage herself fine around Kavlin and Shad without the worry of being a danger. But her ribs did show faintly beneath her skin and the dark hollows returned under her eyes, she looked like the same haunted women as she had been in the tavern last morning. Still...despite the blood and wounds Tes still managed to be radiant, her feline beauty shown through painful injury's. Tes grimaced again, both at that thought and at the throbbing pain. Things would be so much better if I was just a human, I give every ounce of beauty for humanity. I'd be much less of a bother to this world... she thought mournfully. Tes snapped back into reality when she realized Traf was probably waiting for an answer. She ignored his arm that was out stretched to assist her, "Traf...I'm not going to lie, I'm not in the best of shape right now..." she whispered, surprised at how hoarse her velvet voice was. "I don't think I'm going to be able to make it back over to the kill...and I won't be phasing for a while now. I'm going back to Shad's cave, I need to treat my wounds. When you've both taken your share of the kill, would you mind butchering the rest and packing it away in the hide? Theres more than enough there to feed an entire pack of wolves and we did promise to help Shad with hunting anyway, so if you do not object would you take the rest to share with them?" she said in her whispery voice, lowering it in hopes to disguise the roughness the pain had infused in it. "I have a good knife in my boots, I'll leave it in the stash as well as the shirt for Kijah, for you to use. Oh..and make sure to get the antler, it would make a nice trophy." she said a hint of a smile played on her lips before she became serious again. She hoped they would not protest, she did not have the energy to argue with them. "Can you do that for me?" she asked, this time her eyes be firm...she was not asking she was telling.
(*beats head on desk* I couldn't think of any thing to say >_< Wahhhh)

Traf bristled at Tes’ teasing. He cared. He cared a hell of a lot. His voice was almost a growl as he muttered, “It’s hard to be happy that my mate is fixed when my sister looks like she was run over by a carriage. You’re both important to me, and I’m not going to be overly thrilled until you’re both okay.” He sounded angry, though it wasn’t aimed at Tes, rather he was furious with himself. They looked at me to lead the hunt and I let them both get hurt. Well, I’m going to do my damnedest to take care of them now.
He listened to Tes’ request as he closely scrutinized her. She wasn’t going to be traipsing through the woods by herself, injured and unfed, that was for sure. He wouldn’t allow it.
“Tes, my kitten,” he began with a sigh, “I will do all that you ask, with one tiny exception. You need the energy perhaps more than we do. I’ll carry you on my back to the bull if that’s what it takes, and you’re going to attempt to eat as much as you can stomach. Then I will see you safely back to Shad’s cave, once again, carrying you on my back. Brother’s orders.”
He wasn’t sure how he would go about it, but somehow he would manage to juggle both injured women through the forest. Glancing at Kijah as if wordlessly saying he’d be right back, he made his way over to the roots where Tes had hidden her stash. He retrieved the knife, intending to pick up the rest later on the way back to Shad’s. Knife in hand, he made his way over to Tes. He gave her a look that was half-stern, half-puppy eyes as if to say ‘Well, what’s it going to be?’

Tes snarled and tossed her head back, she didn't mean to be angry with Traf but she just couldn't help it. The way he called her 'my kitten' nearly broke her heart, and the fact he really did consider himself her brother was even worse. How much would he suffer when she left? This was her fault to be sure, leading him along like she was going to stay with him and Kijah forever. The guilt made her angry, and it was fueled by the the pain in her shoulder. "How on earth do you plan on carrying both of us?" she snapped at him, her golden eyes flamed. Tes gripped her shoulder with one hand and straightened up again, this time with the intention to walk out into the forest. "There will be no exceptions! First of all, I'm going to get some clothes on if you don't mind, then I'm going to sew up this wound on my shoulder so I don't bleed to death, then I'm going to wash off the blood and go back to the damn cave to chug the contents of that flask I gave Kavi before I pass out. If you got a problem with that, then too damn bad!" she growled, nearly shouting now. Great...thats right..take it all out on the guy who's trying to help you... she sighed to herself as she stalked off to find the place she stashed her clothing. Tes didn't look back at Traf, unsure if she would be able to handle the look on his face.

Kijah stood leaning on a tree watching Traf and Tes argue. Great, a battle of "I'm more stubborn than you!" She had no clue how this was going to end up, she had afterall just met them both, interesting considering he was already her mate, she couldn't help but smile at that thought. She really had no clue who she would put her silver on in this battle.
She could see that Traf was only helping, or atleast trying too, but Tes. She was hurting, not just physically, there was something showing in her eyes. She knew how to heal she evidently knew what she was doing when it came to her injuries, but all the same, Kijah didn't want to see her hurt. Traf treated her as a sister, so inturn Tes as good as a sister to her too, something she had never had before.
She was torn, Traf's emotions were radiating to her, she could feel how much he wanted to protect Tes, but maybe he was under estimating her. She didn't want to see either of them hurt, but it was likely someone would end up stung by the others words before this was over, and Tes didn't look like one to back down easily.
