Kijah blushed slightly at the way Traf was watching her, deep inside, somewhere way down deep, she knew it was better that she eat now before anything else happened. Even though she knew that, the misbehaving side of her was stomping that knowledge down further away. She grinned when he pulled out the chair. He was always so thoughtful of her. Even the smallest things he did for her, perhaps without even thinking about them, they meant so much to her. She walked over and took the seat Traf offered her. It had been a long time since she had sat at an actual table to eat, it was...strange.
Kijah looked at Traf and then down at the bottle of wine. She had only drank a few times before, and those times...well they were the reason she didn't drink often. He had though gone to the trouble of getting the wine and she suspected their funds were seriously limited by staying here so she decided she would at least have a bit of it anyway. What harm could it do, she was here with him after all. When she looked at the food she realized just how hungry she actually was. She watched Traf walk over to his chair, perhaps letting her eyes linger a bit too long, but quickly started eating when he sat down.
The meat even though cold was good and she ate it quickly, the wolf in her relished the taste. It was rare the wolf would take over in her need for tastes, but when she was hungry as she was now, she tended to crave and almost need the meat. She picked up some bread and before she ate it she found herself watching Traf. She started thinking about the little conversation she had with herself, she found herself realizing just how far she would have gone if he hadn't left to go get food. There would have been no hesitation from her on this one everything in her life from this point on, revolved with him in the center of it, there was just no seeing anything without him there beside her. She grinned as she watched him, completely oblivious to how lost in thought she was, that and how silly she must have looked sitting there just staring.

Words couldn’t have begun to describe the gamut of emotions running through Traf as he sat down and gazed across the table at Kijah. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d sat down at a table to eat, but he could very easily imagine getting used to it.
Although he was definitely hungry and the portions were supposed to be enough for two, Traf was careful to only pick at the food so that Kijah would get her fill of what she preferred. He hoped that it would encourage her to eat, remembering what she had said the night before in the cave about being a light eater. He noticed the enthusiasm with which she ate the meat and though it would have been his first choice, he mainly avoided it until she started to slow down. In the meantime, he devoured his half of the apple. Such things had always been a rare treat when he’d lived in the eastern lands, and while fruit had become easier to find once he’d left home, the almost childlike enthusiasm had never left him.
Just as he was lifting a chunk of bread and meat to his lips, he realized he was being watched. A smirk slowly crawled across his face. “It’s a small room, little wolf, I won’t get lost or wander off,” he said teasingly, repeating her words from the night before. If he was going to get teased because he couldn’t take his eyes off of her, then so was she, all in good humor. His smile faded slightly into something a little less joyous and a lot more charming. “What are you thinking?” he asked softly as he reached out to take a swig of the wine.

If she could blush the color of her hair she would have, he had startled and embarrassed her when he brought it to her attention that she was staring. She knew he meant it only in fun but she hadn't meant to just blatantly stare at him like so. She nearly dropped the piece of bread she was holding when he posed his question to her.
What are you thinking?
Yep she could just see the look on his face. I'm thinking of what I would rather be doing besides eating love. Yep that would go over real well. She looked up and grinned at Traf regardless, she could tell he was laying on the charm already. Wondering if this was a continuation of the teasing from earlier she decided to play back. She sat the bread down and took a sip of the wine. The warmth washed over her as it went down, it was a stiff reminder of why she didn't drink often. She laughed inside as things to do to get under this wolf's skin came to mind, but she hid her amusement she only flashed him the same charming smile he was throwing her way.
She leaned forward a bit and looked at him, and slowly as she started to speak she moved her leg under the table and started to rub it against his. Lets just see how long the wolf can resist.
"You really want to know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking about that look you had on your face just before you walked out. There was something brewing there, tell me love, what was that?"
She couldn't help but smile slyly as she asked this. She took another sip of the wine and looked deeply into his golden eyes. There was no doubt the wine was having an effect on her, desire was most assuredly heavy in her eyes. She reached over and picked up the curious fruit, she had never seen one much less eaten one before, but he had eaten it and apparently enjoyed it. So while still keeping the sly smile on her face she slowly started eating it.

It was Traf’s turn to grin and stare like the love besotted fool he was as the blush spread across Kijah’s face. Not only was he entirely pleased with the effect he had on her, but she was even more gorgeous flushed as she was. He hadn’t thought she could possibly be more beautiful until that moment. He was watching her far too closely to miss her nearly dropping the bread and was very glad he hadn’t. It comforted him to know she was just as distracted as he was.
All teasing aside, he had been worried to push too hard, not wanting to make her feel trapped into doing something she wasn’t ready for, especially once he’d heard what she’d gone through. As much as he didn’t particularly want to wait, he was content to. He would still do his best to tread carefully, but her reaction did make him feel a bit more confident.
He froze momentarily when he felt her leg against his, and again when she spoke. You want to play that game again, little wolf? He smirked devilishly.
The moment she made a move toward the bottle of wine, he did too. As planned, his hand arrived just seconds too late, his fingers tightening around hers for just a moment as his eyes never left her face. Then he released her hand, acting utterly nonchalant, as if had been all an accident. And then he grinned again and popped the last bit of his apple half into his mouth. As he chewed, he shrugged casually. “Just thinking that if I’m going to be paying out my arse for this room we’d better enjoy it to the fullest.”
With that, he pushed his chair back and stood, stretching slightly before his bruised ribs complained at him, loud enough, but not as loudly as the day before. The ache, while ever present, wasn’t nearly as bad as it had been just the previous day, and for that he was glad. His metabolism might have been at times detrimentally quick for someone who mainly survived on his own in the wild, but at least it afforded him relatively quick healing, and shifting always helped as well.
He made his way over to the bedside, pausing to pick up the wolf’s pelt and toss it onto the tiny table at the end of the bed. “I was thinking that it would be nice to enjoy a real bed for a change.”
Let's see how you interpret that. Two can play this game little wolf.

Kijah watched Traf stretch, she was starting to fully notice just how muscled he was, sure she had looked at him before, but she hadn't quite been in this mood either. She could clearly see he was in fact playing the teasing game from earlier. She was surprised at how at ease she was with him. Any other time she thought about her past she wanted nothing more than to be left alone, and now...now she wants nothing more than to be with him.
She took another sip of wine, perhaps a bad idea but she wasn't drunk yet, she was just starting to feel the effects of it. She watched as he went over to the bed, tossing the pelt aside.
“I was thinking that it would be nice to enjoy a real bed for a change.”
She grinned madly, yes she wanted to enjoy the bed as well, but she had the feeling that it wasn't going to be sleep happening just then. She stood and stretched a bit before walking slowly over to him, she was picking her steps carefully. She knew full well he was watching her, why not make him anticipate her next moves. She stopped picking up the pelt and looking over it as if she was truly interested before putting it back on the table. She looked up and flashed a sexy grin at Traf once more, she walked over and stood in front of him and lightly ran her fingers down his chest. She silently cursed her hight not being tall enough to to look him solid in the eyes. Instead she just kissed him lightly running her fingers up around his neck where she placed her hands while grinning.
"Enjoy a real bed? Well you did say that I needed to heal. I assume you want me to just go rest then. Goodness and I thought this was going to be an eventful afternoon."
Sadly she figured that if both wanted to be stubborn this could go on all night.

A grin spread across Traf’s face as Kijah stalked toward him. He realized quickly that the walk, the smile, were all for his benefit. As if he needed anymore encouragement. He already couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Everyone treats you as less, as weak, even you might underestimate yourself, my little wolf, but you’ve certainly conquered this wolf completely, no matter how far he towers over you. You’ve got more power than you know.
As she kissed him, he slowly slid his hands over her hips, locking his arms around her waist, loving how perfectly their bodies always seemed to fit together. “Well, if you’re tired,” he began, giving a fake, defeated sigh, “I suppose I should tuck you in and go and watch over Tes then. A pity.” Again, he sighed, and drew back from her slightly, just enough to make it appear like he truly was going to leave.

Tes was still hovering between that peculiar boundary of sleep and awakening. She just barely aware of the events taking place around her yet somehow she was half awake, the lioness within her never quite asleep. Ugh, God Dammit, I've spent what? The last 12 hours or so half passed out? Well this is damn annoying... What should have been calming, floating in this pitch black night, only aggravated her more. She was sick and tired of the nightmares, snippets of pure horror, that intruded her sleep and haunted her darkness. They came and went in irregular periods, some old some new. It was the new ones that had her the most disturbed, images if her new found pack coated in their own blood, suffering the same fate as her Kado. The worst of course being Kavlin and Traf. She twitched and tossed around in her bed, even if it was just a dream she wanted nothing more than sprint off into the woods and protect little Kavi from the horrors of her past.
Tes curled her legs to her chest and let out a low moan, it was agony sitting around in this darkness waiting impatiently for the next stream of nightmares to come along. Then wake up! The crooning voice ordered. Tes blinked and rolled over, Uh...How? she wondered, once again tugging at the corner of her mind in attempt to match the voice to a memory. The voice grumbled, she could feel its irritation. Dammit Tes, you sure as hell are getting more annoying everyday! And like someone just flipped a switch, the entire room was filled with light, so bright it was blinding. Tes blinked and rubbed her eyes as a figure in the distance approached Who the hell? The voice laughed merrily, its mood so quickly changed from its earlier irritation. Little love, Have you forgotten me already? And here I was thinking I was unforgettable! It chimed, the figure stopped a yard away and crouched down beaming at her. Tes lifted her head slowly, the figures words ringing in her ears. Unforgetable....No...it can't be her, impossible! she whispered breathlessly, but there she was...staring right into the over sized brown eyes of a person she thought she'd never see again (dream or not)...Her Alice! Alice tossed her shortly cropped honey blonde hair and laughed merrily, her eyes sparkling brightly as ever, ever fiber of her being radiating pure joy. Yes, it was unmistakably Alice...no other person in this world could be so invincibly happy. Little Alice c ocked her head to the side and let out another peal of musical laughter, clear and bright like chorusing bells. Tes could only gape at the perfect impish creature. Even from where she was sitting she could feel the passionate, child like radiance emitting from her...Alice....it was unbelievable. Just at the very moment she needed it most, Tes's purest form of happiness appeared. The sister she's always dreamed of, her closest companion...Alice! Sweet Alice of course was possibly the strangest creature to claim the right as Tes's sister, her large brown eyes the only hint to the creature dwelling within her. A Margay Voskon, one of the rarest of feline Voskon, almost never seen outside their natural habitats (If ever seen at all) was the creature that possessed little Alice. Barely even a quarter of Tes's Puma half when transformed Alice was the toughest of their group of three (Edward, Alice and Tes). It never failed to amaze Tes that such a small animal could hold such enthusiasm and determinations. At this very moment Tes could see Alice's strength, she plainly wore her tenacity and no doubt was thinking of how she could easily take down Puma Tes with on swipe of her tiny paw.
Tes shook her head , clearing her mind of the daze and memories. Come to think of it, Alice was looking at her strangely, Narrowing her eyes as if she was scolding a child. Tes knew that look, no doubt Alice would dish out her punishment for whatever crime she decided Tes committed in a moment. But now was the time for greetings, and a darn long it had been! "Alice...." she whispered awed, unable to come up with anything more epic to say. She rose slowly and closed the gap between them, crushing the notably smaller, and younger girl in a Voskon strength hug. "Well...I'll take it you missed me?" she smiled softly, her reprimanding look set aside for a little while. "Of course!" Tes choked on the verge of tears. Words were useless on describing what Alice meant to Tes. Nothing was strong enough, there wasn't a word that invented that could sum up her feelings for the young boisterous girl. If she tired, corny as it sounded, she would say Alice was her life. Alice=life to Tes. And it was Alice, and only Alice that convinced her she was deserving of it. Alice's pure innocent joy was something so foreign to her, so catching! It made her feel alive, that even with all the terrible occurrence happening in the world there was one person who could go on with their life and be happy. It gave Tes courage. So, I suppose its no wonder Alice appeared before her now. Maybe her mind subconsciously reacting to her death threats, sent Alice's image out to guide her...or it was just the side effects of the drugs laid on her by the healer. Either way right now Tes was happy, and that was a rare occurrence indeed. Alice dropped her arms at the sight of Tes's forming tears. Her hand darted out Voskon quick and slapped her across the face. Tes stepped back startled, but not surprised...she had it coming, feeling sorry for herself in front of Alice.

Kijah sighed as she felt Traf slide his arms around her and then eyed him carefully when he spoke of leaving to go check on Tes. She shook her head and chuckled at him, "No, I think Tes is quite alright, the human would come over if anything was wrong." She reached up and placed her hands on his chest pushing Traf back on the bed. "You love, are staying right here." She moved forward and sat in his lap and pulled his head down so she could kiss him fully on the lips. She was losing all abandon here and now.
Slow down Kij, you two have all night. She inwardly glared at her inner voice. She was always butting in when not wanted. However Kijah figured she was right so she slowly pulled back from the kiss. She looked up and stroked Traf's cheek, "Somehow love, I find it hard to believe you would leave me so willingly at the moment."
She looked up and gazed into his eyes, they were telling so much on him, screaming how he wanted to stay rather than leave. She grinned realizing hers were saying all the same things, if not more. All the love he could possibly show was right there in his eyes, all for her. Tears momentarily filled her eyes as she looked up at him, tears of sheer elation. She pulled him close and kissed him once more and pulled back only slightly, her head still close enough she was looking him closely in the eyes. "I can honestly thank the gods that I didn't walk away yesterday. To think of what I would have missed out on for the rest of my life, no matter how hard, how far and long I looked, I could have never found my One. Would have never found another as perfect for me, and to me as you. Thank you love, for being so good to me, there is nothing better I could ask for in a mate than what is right here in front of me."
She laid her head on his chest and slowly trailed her fingers up and down his chest, pausing here and there before resuming. The closeness of Traf was intoxicating, more so than the wine. His scent seemed to surround her so much that it was dazzling her senses. All she could think of was the perfect vision of him and her together. Her heart was pounding, there were so many thoughts running through her head, she figured he could hear her heart as loudly and clearly as she could. She was slightly shaking but from what? Nervousness? Excitement? Anticipation? Her inner wolf laughed.
Oh come on Kij, you are pretty much throwing yourself at him. Kijah grinned at herself. Shut up you. Even though she couldn't tell, she figured she had to have blushed yet again from the realization that her inner wolf was right, and she was loving every minute of it.

Traf would have agreed with enthusiasm to the suggestion that the human would have come to get them if anything was amiss with Tes, but he was cut off by the sensation of falling backward. He bounced slightly as he landed on the bed, and he could almost feel his heart speed up even before she spoke and then lowered herself into his lap. At that point, his head almost spun.
He responded to the passion in her kiss with his own, putting his arms out to hold her close to him. His fingers grasped at the folds in the slightly too-big shirt and makeshift skirt she wore, remembering well the first glimpse he’d had of her. She had stepped out of the trees, managing to carry herself with both confidence and humility so that she didn’t appear as either as a challenger or as easy prey. And she’d done it with an almost impossible grace. He’d been drawn to her from that very moment. It had only grown from that point, taking another giant leap the moment he’d run to answer her calls before the hunt and first saw her in nothing but the glory of her fair skin and fiery hair. If he hadn’t already been hopelessly in love with her by then, that would have done it for him. It was a sight he definitely could not wait to see again.
“I’ll never willingly leave your side, my wolf. But I do worry a bit that Tes might eat the healer.” He threw a glance over his shoulder, trying to feign concern. He was only teasing of course, and to prove it, he kissed her, one hand leaving her waist to cup her chin. And when he pulled back, his face instantly fell as he saw the tears in her eyes. If she hadn’t been so quick to speak, it would have taken him just seconds to slip completely out of desire and back into agitation.
He sighed contentedly and leaned toward her so that their foreheads touched. “Thank you for letting me take care of you, my little wolf. It’s my greatest honor, and your love is the greatest gift I have ever been given,” he said softly, meaning every joyous word. He smiled broadly at her as many different emotions ran across her face, and he wondered once again just what she was thinking. No more so than when she blushed however.
He kissed her deeply as he ran one hand through her hair, savoring the taste of her lips. And both, for the next few hours, found out just what the other had been thinking.

Kijah lay next to Traf with her head on his chest, she was trying to calm her thoughts. The past few hours had been surreal to her, almost like she was drifting between two worlds, a fantasy world and a reality world. Sure the past two days seemed like a fantasy, like they couldn't be real. Sure enough that wolf from her fantasy was there laying next to her holding her in his arms. She turned to look at the window, there was no light coming in from the sky, it had to have been well on into the evening. She grinned. Time flies when you're having fun. It was a cheesy pun and she knew it but she had always liked the saying and it was just so, appropriate right now.
She sat up and crossed her legs in front of her, even though she had enjoyed getting to know her wolf better her shoulder was screaming at her. She was enjoying the comfort of the bed, it was soft and was almost seeming like she was in a home. She missed a bed, but as much as she enjoyed a bed, she had to convince herself to get out of this one. She got up and walked over to the table and noticed there was still some water there. She poured some in the kettle and swung it over the fire, noticing the fire was low she put a few pieces of wood on it. She needed there to be enough heat there to boil the water, the quicker the better. She walked back over to the bed grinning at Traf.
"This is the precise reason you should not joke about my size. You tease me then I have to tease you back and look where it gets us, exhausted and sore." She attempted to pretend she was upset about the whole affair but couldn't come near containing the laughter. "I do however think we may have over did it a bit though, my shoulder is throbbing once again. I shall be glad when it fully heals, I have grown accustomed to the pain from it and that disturbs me."
Her eyes wandered the room once more and she noticed the wolf pelt that was now laying on the floor. She got up and walked over to it picking it up and carrying it back to the bed. There was something about it, just the fact that Traf carried it around proved it to be significant to him, but why? She sat there looking at it, stroking it gently, wondering what secrets it held. She knew if Traf was carrying a wolf pelt, then this wolf was close to him. Something bad must have happened, and as much as she wanted to know, she wasn't so sure she wanted to ruin their carefree evening with questions that could possibly bring sadness to his eyes.
No, not tonight, she shook her head to clear her thoughts and got back up and laid by Traf while she waited on the water to boil, pulling the wolf pelt up over the both of them. She was going to make a point of enjoying the peace they had together, after the last few weeks it was a welcome thing.

Hester sighed and turned over to lie on her other side. She was on the ground beside where Storm was tied, using her jacket as a pillow. She yawned, and glanced up at the sky. "Not that late..." She muttered. Hester was bored. She'd been hanging around in front of the tavern for ages. She'd checked her saddle for any damage, she'd braided her hair, and she had cleaned every part of Storm she could reach without getting up. "Well, what did I expect? I knew waiting for an unconscious person to wake up might take any length of time. I could be here all night. Which... Wouldn't be so good." She rubbed her face with both hands. It probably wouldn't be wise sleeping out in front of the tavern, (more than unwise, it would be pretty dangerous,) but she didn't want to get a room, and she wouldn't go home. But then... Her parents would worry. And she proably wouldn't be at home for the next few nights anyway. "I need to tell them I'm going camping. And I need to get some stuff." She murmured relucatantly, thinking out loud. After thinking it over, she wondered whether running away and saying in the woods would be all that necessary. Being under the same roof as Janira would be unbearable... But well, she didn't really feel like finding and lugging about all the gear she'd need. She got up with a groan, and buried her face in Storm's mane. Hester yawned again, almost getting a mouthful of horse-hair. She felt strangely tired, and more than a little cold. And hungry. But I don't want to go hooooome. But I don't want to go camping either. Not tonight, anyway. She closed her eyes, for just a moment, and let herself drift in warm darkness for a few minutes. How nice it would be to just fall asleep, even for a moment... It took almost all of Hester's willpower to pull herself away. Humph, fall asleep at the edge of the street. That would be smart. "Allright," she said slowly to Storm. "Here's what I'll do. If Janira goes too far once, just once, I'm out of there." She could just find a bedroll and tie it to her saddle, so if the worst happened she could just gallop out and sleep in the forest then. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll write the rest as soon as I can.

It was the first time his mind wasn’t racing. From the moment Traf had declared his feelings for Kijah and found that she returned them, through any quiet moment he found himself in his thoughts had been alive with images of their future. But there, with his little wolf snuggled up in his arms, his thoughts were quiet, every bit of his heart, soul and body perfectly content. Even with the smell of humans surrounding them, the faint unfamiliar sounds of city life that his inhuman hearing could pick up, he was happy.
When Kijah turned to look out the window, his gaze followed hers. He couldn’t hold back a soft laugh when he saw that hours had passed and night had fallen. Afterall, he couldn’t think of a better way to have spent the time. The plans he’d had for the day didn’t even come close. And while he hated having empty arms when she left the bed, the happy feeling didn’t fade. He watched her, still unable to keep himself from thoroughly appreciating the view. Apparently it was going to take more than a few hours to completely dissipate the heat he felt around her.
“You tease me then I have to tease you back and look where it gets us, exhausted and sore.”
Oh, little wolf, if this is where teasing gets us, then I’m never going to stop, he thought with a grin, though he couldn’t help but feel a tiny pang of guilt. He had sworn to take care of her, and even though she had clearly been game, perhaps they should have waited for her shoulder's sake. They were both injured afterall.
The moment he thought of his injury, the pain flared to life. He glanced down and prodded gently at the wounded area, wincing at the deep blackish bruise about the size of his fist bordered by an angry shade of purple. It was the first time he’d really studied the wound since receiving it. Until then, all he’d cared about was the fact that it hurt and there wasn’t anything he could do but grin and bear it. But at that moment he couldn’t help but agree that they might have overdone it a bit. Though even with that added to the guilt he’d felt, he couldn’t bring himself to regret one moment of it.
Traf watched Kijah gather up the pelt with soft eyes, bitterly reminded that he would never be able to introduce her to the pelt’s owner. He had met Angosh in a manner not all that unlike how he’d met Kijah, and the two men had shared a deep friendship that had left him thinking of the former-alpha as his true father, a father of the heart rather than the blood. A soft sigh escaped him when she returned to his arms and wrapped the fur around them, and he realized that Angosh had seen Kijah, that he was always watching over him. He knew that his ‘father’ was smiling down on them, at the promise of the life they would create together, and all because of his sacrifice.
He stared deeply into Kijah’s eyes, grinning from the sheer joy of being able to share these precious moments alone with her. The charm he had gifted her with caught his eyes, resting against her chest and glinting in the soft firelight as she breathed. A sizeable section of her hair had come free from the leather thong, and he couldn’t help but reach out and begin working it into a new braid. He had a few small beads somewhere in his pack that he would have loved to work into her hair, but as he loathed the idea of leaving the bed at that point, they would just have to wait.

Kijah grinned as Traf started braiding her hair, she enjoyed feeling his fingers run through her hair, it seemed so natural.
"You know you are spoiling me to that, is this your ploy to keep me in bed? Play with my hair so much I won't want to leave?"
She marvled at the quickness of his fingers and how easily he braided her hair, it was too soon that he had finished it. She sat up in bed and looked around the room, she had a queer feeling but she couldn;t put her finger on it. She was looking around when her gaze fell on her own legs, she looked at her thigh. The scar from Mirta glared at her. The feeling hit home then, she knew exactly what it was. She signed and reached up for the first braid that Traf had put in her hair, she looked at the trinket and remembered their conversation the night before sitting near the fire.
She wasn't aware she was even speaking her thoughts aloud, she was so lost in her thoughts.
"Something's wrong I know it is, but what? Mum what are they doing to you?"
She closed her eyes and lowered her head. Here she sat enjoying luxaries when her mum sat there in Southridge, with only the gods know what is happening to her.
"Mum how could I sit here like this, when you are there? How could I be so selfish? No, I can't put it off, not any longer, but can you do this Kij?" She growled at her self. "No, it's not a matter of if I can do this, I have to do this."

As Tes expected Alice's mood turned on a dime and she was now glaring down...well more like up at Tes, disapproval written clearly on her delicate features. "Don't you start bawling like a pathetic whinny brat!" she snapped harshly, or well she attempted harshness but her velvet voice was far too gentle to really pull it off. Tes ducked her head shamefully and sat down on the floor so she could tuck her head between her knees. "Sorry..." she mumbled her voice barely audible. Alice didn't let down on her glare this time, probably enjoying finally being able to look down on Tes more than she should have. "This is actually why I'm here ya know...Playing your conscious so to speak." she grumbled finally taking a seat on the ground. Tes blinked and looked up again thinking about how she was never going to be able to get used to Alice's blunt honesty. "My conscious? Yeah...ok then. Have I gone insane?" Tes snorted pressing her cheek against her knee. Alice shook her head and let out a sigh drenched with drama. "No Tes, seeing me doesn't mean you are insane. But you are pretty crazy....You know what I'm going to say don't you?" Alice replied dropping her irritated facade, softening her expression. Tes's sad golden eyes rose to meet Alice's and she sighed, "Yeah Alice...You want me to live...But do you know what your asking of me? Without Kado, it was hard...without you it was harder, but without Edward its impossible! I don't even know if he's alive Alice! How could he be? Not even the most subtle clue was left behind and you know he wouldn't leave me without a single word!" she protested, her knuckles white as she crushed her fingers into a fist. Alice leapt up and growled, "NO! Your giving up, you can't do that! You think he'd want that no matter what happened? Both of them! What about the promise you made to me?? You -promised- you'd try Tes, and now your just falling apart!" she called out, to the point of shouting.
Tes flinched and ducked her head like a scolded child again. God she was right, but what could she do now? What did this figment of her imagination in the shape of her Alice think she could do? Wasn't she already to far gone?
Well, unless it was really Alice not just her mind, Tes wouldn't put it past her to pull something like this off. She had always thought Alice was magic of some sort. "Look Tes, just because things got hard doesn't mean you give up. Even if your alone, even if your sad and weary...you can't give up. Thats just not you." Alice said, lowering her voice once she remembered how bad Tes took to shouting. "And you know what? Your not even alone and you could certainly be much worse off. You have friends now, their new and fresh and the bonds are still delicate, but you have people to love again Tes. You have room to make those bonds grow..." Tes unraveled her arms and legs and fell back wards, stretching out in every direction. Her gaze was thoughtful as she studied the strange pure white clouds rolling along on the pure white sky. Her dreams had the strangest settings, that was for sure. "Traf...and Kavlin...their..friends now? Are you sure they want me as friends? I don't think they need me...Kavi has Shad to look after him, and Traf should be content with Kjah...she is his mate afterall....I'm sure they can survive without me, actually they would be better off." she mumbled her thoughts aloud, she didn't complete reject that idea and it would be a lie to say those two had not grown on her.
Alice snorted, mood changing again, "Tes you idiot! It has never been about what they need. To survive all one needs is themselves, a bit of food n' drink and some air. But surviving doesn't mean living, to live you need to be selfish! " Again the little beast had hoped to her feet, her melodic voice loud and commanding. "Who cares if they don't -need- you, you want them don't you? You want to like them and take care of them don't you? Then take them! Take everything Tes, you need to stop acting like your lower than everyone and that your not deserving of love. Take what you want and live! Thats what the Tes I would have done. Would have taken no for an answer, my Tes would have been happy..." Very slowly her tears were replaced with a smile, a different one than Tes had been using before. Free, maybe even a bit happy. "Yeah....I was like that wasn't I? Traf said something similar to me earlier...that I was a little spitfire? or something...Nnnnm. Kavlin...I do like the little thing, Reg too. I wonder how much we could have had together if we had meet during the happier years." she sighed gently, her Alice was right...Well, Alice was always right...but today Tes felt like maybe, just maybe she could believe her.
Alice beamed, content the battle was over and that she had won. How quickly it went by, this strange curt and emotional battle, it was almost disappointing. Arguing with Tes was amusing at times, shame it couldn't last any longer. The little Voskon shook her head to clear away the wry though, no arguing with Tes wasn't a good thing right now. These can be the happier years Tes...if you make them...Well, I should go then. It was...interesting. Her voice returning to its former echo as Alice turned back around. Tes rose quickly to catch Alice's arm before she disappeared. Don't worry love, I'm not gone yet. I'll be around if you need me...and give my way a try for awhile, you need to go out and find my lover afterall... she chortled tossing her tiny arms around Tes's neck before stepping back out into the darkness that was closing in. "Thank you...I'll...try..." Tes whispered into the new fallen darkness. This time the darkness didn't frighten Tes, it wasn't empty as she had thought before, not with Alice wandering somewhere in its depths. Who knows...she thought, settling down on the ground, maybe Kado's out there too. Maybe one day he'll come out and help me remember...

Traf couldn’t fully suppress a grin that reached nearly from ear to ear, so when he attempted to making a pouting face, some of the effect was lost. “Is that the only thing that keeps you in bed?” Again, he couldn’t fully wipe the smile off his face, though he tried to look hurt. Surely he’d given her at least one good reason to stay in bed with him before he’d started braiding her hair. Just before he finished the braid, he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. “I like to spoil you, my little wolf, get used to it.”
He was just beginning to reach for another bit of her hair when suddenly she sat up. She seemed alarmed enough to set him instantly on edge. He sat up, about to put his arms around her when she began to speak. At first, it confused him, until he realized that she was not speaking to him, perhaps didn’t know she was speaking at all.
When she went silent, he gingerly reached out to rest his hands on her shoulders and slowly slide them down to grip her upper arms comfortingly. “Kijah, love, it isn’t selfish to make sure one is ready to face a challenge. You would do good running in half-cocked and getting yourself killed, would you? In fact, that would be a worse end, I think.”
He slowly scooted closer to her, putting his arms further around her. “I told you we would go when you were ready. I had of course hoped you’d be a little more healed, but I suppose this just means you’re obligated to let me fuss extra over you the next few days.” He smiled, hoping to lighten her mood a little. There was no sense in worrying if there was nothing to be done about it until they actually got to Kijah’s homeland. In the meantime, his mind raced to build a small list of supplies they’d need, slightly different from those he had already planned to pick up.
