Shad absorbed himself in watching the people around him. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere and he wondered how one ever got used to the bustle. Suddenly a familiar step caught his attention. He glanced up to see Traf darting through the crowd and into the inn. The other man carried what appeared to be a child in his arms. Shad watched him go, shock blocking out most of the activity around him.Never thought I’d see him in town! Shad shook his head and settled back down into his position beside the door. Whatever Traf was doing was Traf’s business and Shad wasn’t going to get involved.
A while later, Kijah made her way into Shad’s hearing range. What in the world is she lugging? He watched her stop to talk to a younger girl. I thought Voskons avoided humans? Why are they both showing up here? Shad’s curiosity was definitely spiked, but he remained seated. Kijah continued toward him. He knew she’d picked up his scent but she hadn’t spotted him yet. His amusement grew as she searched for him, resisting the urge to draw up his long legs when she nearly stepped on him. His amusement was short lived when she began to speak. He didn’t say a word, but listened intently. His shock was enough that he forgot to blend, drawing several gasps from the townspeople. Tes hurt. Maybe dying. Something in the woods. Fajera! Shad jerked himself to his feet and moved into the inn, his brain swirling with conflicting thoughts. I’ve got to help Tes! Like you could actually do anything. Go warn Fajera and protect Kavi! But Fajera’s more than capable….Not if she’s caught unprepared! He forcefully shoved the thoughts away and ran up the stairs. He followed the sound of voices until he spotted Traf’s tall frame inside one of the rooms with Kijah pressed against him. He positioned himself against the wall opposite the door where he could see both the couple and Tes. Tes seemed to be sleeping peacefully. Sky tripped as she bustled from the room, nearly running into him. Her eyes widened in surprise as Shad reached out to steady her, his own eyes warning her not to give him away. She gave a firm nod and hurried down the hallway, returning momentarily with water and cloths for the healer. Assured by the woman’s words that Tes would be okay, he moved away from the wall, pausing long enough to catch Kijah’s eye. “Home. Be careful.” He mouthed. He then turned and fled the inn and town.

Kijah watched as Sky rushed in with the water and linens to take to the healer and was startled when she noticed Shad standing in the doorway. She understood his words and nodded at him and turned back to help the healer clean Tes up and watched as she rubbed the oils on Tes and wrapped her tightly. It seemed easy enough at least, she was so concerned with concentrating on what the healer was showing her that she didn't even notice Traf had stopped to talk to Sky. She watched as he went over and kissed Tes on the forehead and then walked over to her. She reached out and took the hand he offered noticing the worried look in his eyes. She dropped her gaze quickly, she didn't like to see what she had caused especially when she couldn't even explain anything to him right now.
She followed him into the strange room and walked over to a table that was standing in there and placed his pack on it. She reached up and rubbed her sore shoulder as she walked over and looked out of the window. She moved back away, too many people were in such a small area. She walked over and sat on the bed and sat with her legs tucked underneath her. She looked up at Traf to see if anything had changed in his eyes, hoping that maybe it would have eased his mind that she was still here with him. Although she knew the answer she wanted to hear it all from him.
"Traf, I know something is bothering you, and it does neither of us any good to walk around it. Whats wrong?"

Even as Kijah gave her hand to his and his fingers clenched around hers, Traf still felt tense. The look in her eyes and the harshness in her voice when she had reacted to whatever he’d done to upset her in the clearing was fresh in his mind. That sense of worry struck him a lot deeper than the small comfort of her freely given hand did.
He was actually glad to see how sparse the room was. The less things there were, the less the room would smell of humans. The scent was already weaker than it had been in the rest of the inn, and it was helping to calm him down. He turned his head just enough to brush his face against the wolf skin on his shoulder, taking in the scent. It held faint whispers of wolf’s musk, the deep forest, the joy of a run and the hunt. The calm settled over him slowly, heavily, vanquishing the last of his anger, making way for his concern. He’d only taken a few steps into the room before stopping in his tracks, and it was there he stood, working up the nerve to confront Kijah.
Slowly he turned his eyes up to look at her, just in time to see her rubbing her shoulder. His eyes narrowed in sympathy. He wanted to run to her and sweep her up into his arms and do anything and everything he could to take away her pain and unhappiness. But he felt frozen in place, only breaking once her voice reached him.
He joined her on the bed, a little hesitation remaining. He sat with one leg tucked under him, his body inclined toward Kijah, his head ducked a little so he could look into her eyes, his entire position conveying honesty and openness. His voice was quiet as he replied. “You’re angry with me,” he said simply. His voice carried with it the weight of his emotions, clearly showing how emotionally exhausted and defeated he felt.

Kijah closed her eyes and took a breath before looking back up into Traf's. "I'm not mad, I wasn't earlier really, I was just.....frustrated. I dunno it was just, so much at once. I just needed time for it to all sink in, and its still catching up to me, that and my walk to town..." Kijah shuddered, she didn't like the feeling she had in the woods and was glad she didn't have to go back so soon. She definitely was not going back alone any time soon. She reached over and picked up Traf's hand bringing it to her cheek and then kissing it, just holding him close. As if that one small action would keep him from going anywhere for a long time. She looked up into his eyes, "I promise you I am not mad. Otherwise, I wouldn't have come into town to be with you, nor would I be here now love."
She leaned over and kissed him gently and then leaned her head on his shoulder. Right now all she wanted was to be here with him, where it was safe. She snuggled closer to him against his chest trying to adjust her sore shoulder where it was comfortable. She sat breathing in his scent, letting it wash over her, it was calming her, the prickling sensation on her neck was slowly going away. Still in the back of her mind, she knew something was out there, and she stayed tense. Thoughts of what could have happened in the forest were rushing to her head, what if she had ended up like Tes? Would Traf have found her in time? She buried her head closer to his neck trying to push the thoughts further from her mind and just enjoy being here with her wolf.

A smile finally, slowly crawled across Traf’s lips as Kijah snuggled closer to him, despite the fact that he had clearly felt her trembling against him. It bothered him, and he hated knowing she was troubled, but at least knowing he was not the cause of it allowed him to bite back his questions to let her tell him what she wanted when she wanted, trusting her. “Whatever it was,” he whispered, “Know that I’m sorry if I helped cause it.”
He reached out to cup her chin with his hand, tilting her face up to his so that he could kiss her. As he released her, his fingers trailed down the braid he had made in her hair the night before, fingertips brushing the metal charm he’d given her. Not only had she worn this tiny marker of his claim over her, but she had taken it as the honor he had meant it to be. He was certain that he was not yet ready to accept that she wasn’t going anywhere, but he did take comfort in that tiny sign, feeling as honored by her wearing it as she had felt to receive it.
“Lucidity of thought pretty much left me the moment I found Tes. Being around humans didn’t help it any. Not after what happened to Escavf.” Not after the dream I had either. He sighed heavily, trying to force the gory memories that rose up at the thought of his young brother and the previous night’s nightmare back into his subconscious where they could trouble him only distantly. Again, he sighed hard. Just as it had been with little Kafi, had Tes died, it would have been his fault again. He cursed his luck at becoming so enamored only of dangerously feisty females at the same time he renewed his silent vow to protect them from harm no matter what the cost to himself.
His eyes wandered slowly about the room. Though surrounded by humans and filled with their faint scent, he felt relatively safe within the walls. He planned a day of shopping to replenish his meager stock of supplies and make life in the cave a bit more comfortable for both he and Kijah, but it had quickly taken several strange turns. All the same, he felt oddly content, at peace, the wolf pelt draped over one arm, Kijah secure under the other. It was like a preview of what life would hopefully one day be like for them--a real home where they--And pups! he thought, not without a hint of glee--could be safe, only concerned about enjoying each other’s presence.

Kijah grinned when Traf reached up and played with her braid. She looked up at his own hair and laughed. "Why is it love, that I get the feeling that soon I shall have more of these in my hair?" At this she reached up and fingered a few of his trinkets and dreads. She wasn't sure why but she was in love with his wild hair and even more with his trinkets, sometime soon she would take the time and examine them all as she assumed they all each held meaning to him, as hers she now wore did her. The realization that he had meant to go into town and trade hit her. She pushed herself out of his arms. She looked up at him shaking once more as the thoughts and sensations flooded back into her mind.
"Traf, I know you meant to go trade today, but please, can't we wait until tomorrow? I can't go back out there. When I was leaving the woods I was tracking your scent, following you out, at least I thought I was doing the following. She stared at the floor as if lost and rubbed her arms absentmindedly as if she could still feel the follower. "I was the one being followed, for a good ways too. I'm not sure what it was, I couldn't smell it, but I heard it. It was big whatever it was, snapping limbs and fallen branches. I had to stop and rest, the saddle was killing my shoulder. When I stopped, it did too. When I started again so did it. I stopped once more before I was out and heard it closer so I knew something was there. I couldn't run carrying the saddle. Not in the skirt either, and I was not about to strip it off and run. It could have been a human hunter for all I knew, some big man. I've been followed in the woods before, I didn't like the outcome then and I was not about to stick around and see if the results were going to be the same. When I entered the town I could still feel it, whatever it was, it was watching me still..." She shook her head and started to rock slightly.
"Its too crowded, there are too many out there. I don't know what it was..I - I can't go out there, not yet. I cant have it happen again."

Traf couldn’t help but grin. She was so right. He could already clearly picture her with a head full of long red dreads and braids and little trinkets, and the thought damn near stilled his heart. He hoped very much that her joyful tone implied she would allow him to fuss with her hair as such. Many of the wolves at Rockridge wore their hair in dreads. There was no particular significance to it, just a matter of preference. When it came to his siblings, he’d been the one who sat for hours and dreaded their hair once their family had grown and his mother constantly had her hands full with children.
He was more than startled when she suddenly pushed his arms away, but before he had a chance to feel hurt, his eyes met hers. The wolf rose to the surface so quickly it slammed against his mental barriers, almost causing him to shudder. His mate was terrified, and to say he wasn’t happy about it was a vast understatement. He felt a brief flash of worry at how often lately the wolf had nearly pushed him over the edge of his control in just two days’ time. He’d so rarely ever felt that way before. The man and the wolf had always held an easy truce with regards to who was in control when. But he’d never been placed in such a strong position of protection before. This was a sudden and immense change, for it wasn’t even just the sudden addition of one individual he loved more than anything, but two, and a mismatched pack he was growing rather fond of as well.
He listened to her intently, wanting nothing more than to take her back into his arms again, his skin almost tingling from the loss of her warmth. The moment she paused, he said hurriedly, “Of course it can wait, little wolf, we’ve got to be here for Tes anyways.” He smiled warmly at her, hoping to calm her. But as he listened to her next words, he could understand why she was so on edge. It was starting to affect him again. Needing something constructive to do to channel his anger, he got up, shrugging the wolf skin off onto the bed behind him, and made his way over to the small basin in the corner of the room where a pitcher of water waited. After using the pitcher to fill the small black kettle rigged into the small fireplace that could be swung back and forth in and out of the heat of the fire. The fact that her shoulder was clearly bothering her had not escaped his notice, so he aimed to heat the water just enough to dampen a rag to act as a hot compress.
It only took a moment, as he’d heated just enough water to soak the rag. He swung the kettle back out of the fire, and, careful not to touch the metal, dropped the rag into the fire and let his fingertips skim the surface as well. Satisfied it was hot enough but not dangerously so, he drew the rag out and wrung out the excess before rejoining her on the bed.
He was dismayed to find her rocking back and forth; the sight struck him deeply. He slid onto the bed next to her, slowly working up the edge of her shirt to reveal her shoulder. As he wrapped one arm around her, he used his free hand to arrange the heated rag over her shoulder, resting his hand there to keep it in place.
I can’t have it happen again.
At first, he thought she simply meant being alone and being tracked, but she seemed to be too upset for something as simple as that. He leaned in close to press his lips against her temple in a brief kiss. Pulling back slightly so he could look at her, he asked softly, “What happen again, little wolf?”

Kijah sighed at the welcome warmth on her shoulder. His kiss gave her a little strength but was it enough for what was to come? She shook her head and looked down. "I..I can't.." She raised her good arm and put her hand over her eyes, and leaned forward. Making mention of what had happened all those months ago was one thing, going into detail here with Traf, what would he think of her? The whole pack had made the whole thing out to be her fault, she had lured them out they said. She had been asking for it, it was her lot in life and she had gotten what she deserved. They had made her feel so horrible about the whole thing, to the point that part of her started to believe what the pack had said. No! She had to tell him. She loved him and he loved her. Surely he would understand. She drew a shaky breath and looked up at the wall across the room.
"I was hunting last year, there was a herd of deer in the woods. I had been following them all morning and finally just before sunset I had managed to slowly separate a doe from the herd. It had been a slow going process, taken me all day just to get her away from them without spooking her completely. I was getting ready to shift when she spooked. I looked back to see what was coming but it was just Bi'Taq and Ah'li two members of the pack. I was aggravated at them for spooking the doe like that, I turned to see how far she went, maybe I could have followed her who knows. I turned to yell at them and Bi'Taq had me by the arms. Ah'li was close behind him so I kicked out connecting with one of their legs. That was my mistake, and i paid for it. They cursed me a few times and commenced to hitting me. Bi'Taq holding me so Ah'li could hit, Ah'li holding my arms so Bi'Taq could get a few hits in. The growl stopped them, followed by mum rushing over, how she knew she needed to be there I have no clue. When they heard her they figured she was one of the higher ranking wolves and took off.
"There was a second time like that, it ended pretty much the same, the third however....." Kijah started wringing her hands at this point. The tears were already starting to come. "They kept following me, if i went to hunt they were always there somewhere. I had just shifted when Ah'li was on me, he had a knife, said if I didn't shift back he would kill me. So, I shifted back, when I did Bi'Taq was there. They didn't just stop at beating me this time, one was always holding the knife, if i fought they said they would use it. It seemed like I was in hell for hours, I don't even know how long it lasted. Xoric showed up that time and they ran off scared. He is a very high ranking member of the pack and a guard as well. He paused to ask if I was hurt bad, at that point I didn't even want anyone around me. He shifted and took off after them. I assume to punish them for leaving their posts. I never had the need to deal with him, never questioned him later, I just left it be praying it would go away......"
Kijah started to cry at this point, these memories were deep wounds for her, her hands were shaking from the telling alone. Just the memories were like she was reliving the whole thing all over again.
"As much as I wanted to hide it, news of what happened reached the rest of the pack, no one was punished as Kito and Asha deemed it must have been my fault. I was an omega, I deserved whatever I got. Hell look at my mum she said, I had to have been flaunting like she used to. They never tried it again, guess it went to public for them, but I dunno...I just...I can't go through that again, I don't wanna be around anyone but you right now." She lowered her head as she couldn't handle the thoughts any longer. She had never wanted to relive that point in her life and only prayed she never would have to reveal it to another.

The moment Kijah mentioned the two wolves had harmed her, a soft growl trickled up from deep in Traf’s throat. It was a wild, furious sound, his eyes so bright they seemed like they were on fire. The only thing that kept him from clenching his fists was the fact that he was holding on to Kijah. The only thing that kept him from bolting from the room to hunt the two offending wolves down and beat them to death was the fact that the east was rather far away, and there was no way in hell he was about to leave Kijah right then.
They didn't just stop at beating me this time…
He went completely still at that, going blind and deaf to everything around him. He vaguely knew she was still speaking, but it was as if her words were taking too long to reach his ears. The fire went out of his eyes, growing cold and distant. The growling stopped. I’ll kill them. I will kill them. Suddenly he snapped back into himself, an agonized sound, half-snarl, half-howl tearing loose from his lips. His hands were clenched in the bedding, and when he slowly uncurled his fingers, he saw small tears in the fabric. He’d shredded two giant fist-sized holes in the sheets and hadn’t even realized it. Worst of all, as he turned his eyes up to look at Kijah, he just then realized she was crying. Distantly worried that she might not want his touch just then, he tightened his arms around her, willing to take that risk. He reached out and slid his hand over one of her much smaller ones, trying to stop it from shaking. He pulled her against him, as if trying to use his body to shield her from all the world’s troubles.
“Kijah,” he said softly, his voice almost trembling with anger, “my little wolf, my dearest love, no one deserves that. But you’re safe now. I will protect you. I will do anything for you.” A vicious snarl erupted from his throat as the cold rage subsided, and his anger surfaced. Anger he could deal with, he could control. If anyone had entered the room before that point, he probably would have ripped them apart with his bare hands before ever stopping to see who it was. Ever so slowly, his humanity returned. “They’re dead, Kijah. I swear it.” And for once, the thought of killing didn’t bother him in the least. There was always a hint of remorse, even when he hunted. He was never happy to take the life of another living thing, no matter how necessary it was. Now he couldn’t wait to bathe in the blood of these two wolves.
The new level of coldness he’d found within himself scared him. He was terrified to go back to that dark place around anyone but Kijah, worried that there might not be anything left standing when he came back the next time if he was provoked. He wondered if this was some sort of alpha thing, that now he truly had a pack, previously dormant instincts were rising to the surface. But was worried as he was, he couldn’t help but note that it would be very useful in protecting those he loves.
He sighed heavily and rested his cheek against her hair, the feel of her in his arms and her warm scent helping to calm him. “We can stay here, love, as long as you need. Just the two of us.” After a moment, he added softly, “Or at least until the money runs out.”

Kijah, my little wolf, my dearest love, no one deserves that. But you’re safe now. I will protect you. I will do anything for you.
His words wrapped around her like a protective blanket. Nothing else in the world existed to her but him, in his arms was all the security she needed. He had said he would protect her, that she was safe, and for once in her life she truly felt safe from any harm. She had felt for the last year that she wasn't whole, like a piece of her was stolen. Traf filled that void she realized now, that and then some. He completed her very existence.
They’re dead, Kijah. I swear it.
Those words stilled her. Many nights since then she has laid awake wishing for the end of their existence. She had never wanted another creature dead, but to her, after those days in the woods, she wished for their death. She wished that someone could hurt them as much as they hurt her. She had been stupid to worry about how Traf would react to her story. He understood what she had tried to tell everyone, it wasn't her fault, she did nothing.
She felt a little guilty having asked him to stay here, she knew that there were things he needed to do in town, things he needed and wanted to get for them, but at the same time she was relieved when he told her they would be staying as long as she needed. Ignoring the pain in her shoulder she removed the compress he held to it. She rose to her knees and wrapped her arms around his neck, now that she was finally eye level with him she looked deep in his eyes.
"I love you Traf, more than anything else in this world, nothing else exists to me but you."
She then leaned forward and kissed him, there was nothing else she could put words to about how she felt for him, the kiss held every ounce of emotion for him that she could possibly image, and so much more. He was her One and she hoped that he knew it.

Traf's heart started pounding the moment Kijah's lips met his. Each time they kissed, it felt like the first time all over again. Every kiss was a wild new experience, each sweeter than the last. He wondered briefly if that novelty would ever wear off, hoping it wouldn't. Deep down, he truly doubted he'd ever get used to having Kijah in his life. She continued to surprise him, to thrill him, and he loved her for it. As much as he might start getting growly at times, he loved every moment he spent with her. The prospect of a lifetime with her was almost intoxicating. He wanted nothing more than years of these thrilling kisses, years filled with the laughter of their pups at play under the watchful eyes of their grandmother and their uncle Kovfu, years of being able to take care of his little wolf, and yes, even years of those snarly moments.
Speaking of taking care of her. Fine job I'm doing right now.
Reluctantly, but with purpose, he pulled back slightly from her lips. "I love you too, my little wolf, my soul mate. At least until they come up with a better word for what I feel for you, I love you with every ounce of my heart and soul. And I'm going to do my damnedest to take care of you." He kissed her once again, briefly, almost like a promise of things to come. With that, he slowly pulled away and got to his feet. "Starting by getting some food into you."
He glanced out the window quickly. It was already a couple hours past noon, and he'd planned on a late breakfast that morning. She needed the energy, she still had healing to do, and he knew how much he hated to be cut off from his furry side because he didn't have the energy to shift and maintain the form. He ducked his head a bit, his gaze soft as he looked down at her. "Will you be alright if I peek in on Tes and get us some food?"

Kijah sighed when Traf pulled away, she didn't want that kiss to end. She would have loved to stay in his arms, for the rest of the night, with no interruptions. She did need to eat however, she was already almost on her third week with this shoulder wound. She knew his concern for him and understood it. He was taking care of her and she was enjoying this. Even his short absence however would be miserable for her. She wanted her mate more than anything right now. The kiss they shared sent her senses for a rush.
She stood up and walked over to Traf, taking in the vision of him standing there in front of her,she could see now that they were either going to have pups running all over the place, or they were going to learn some restraint. Somehow she couldn't see the restraint winning. She walked over to Traf, placed her hands on his chest and looked up into his golden eyes. "I should be fine, just don't take too long away from me.." She leaned over and kissed his chest slowly trailing her finger down as she turned to find the compress and proceed to warming it to use while he was gone.

It was too hard to miss the look in Kijah’s eyes, likely because it was mirrored in his own. Traf wanted so very badly to steal at least one last kiss before heading out, but he was afraid that if he did, he’d never make it out of the room. Any other time, and he would have resigned himself to that fate. No, he would have dove into it head first. However, much to his dismay, he had other obligations. Casting one last longing glance at his mate, his eyes clearly showing how little he wanted to leave her side at that point, he headed out the door.
Instead of heading straight downstairs, he backtracked to the room next door. He was almost sure that Tes had not yet woken up, as he hadn’t heard any screaming or hissing or objects being thrown, but he wanted to check anyways. He quietly pushed the door open and peeked his head in, relieved to find his kitten still asleep and the healer applying more of the ointment to the wound. Briefly, he had a thought to go in and inquire after her health, but then he remembered how the healer had snapped at Kijah’s presence. It wasn’t that he cared what the human thought, but he didn’t want to cause her to run off as she had already threatened. Just as quietly as he’d opened it, he shut the door and made his way downstairs.
The tavern was even less busy than it had been when he’d entered, or so he guessed by the wildly large amounts of lingering scents compared to the small number of patrons. He’d been a little too occupied to notice whether it had been busy or not when Tes was in his arms, but he assumed much of the lunch crowd had already dispersed. There were still too many lone men for his comfort, and he was instantly glad he hadn’t asked Kijah to accompany him downstairs to eat. He worried that even if she didn’t feel comfortable with it, she would have because he had asked, and that if she had been on edge it would have gotten his hackles up. The way he’d been feeling lately, it would not have taken much more than a sideways glance from one of the men to throw him into a killing rage.
He made his way to the bar and ordered food for the two of them. He pondered asking if they would bring it up, then thought better of it. Kijah didn’t want to see anyone else, so he figured being away the few extra minutes was probably the lesser of two evils. He picked a spot just a few feet from the bar and about as far away from any humans as he could get to wait for the food. Eventually, his mind wandered to the girl in the forest, and he sighed. A show of gratitude would hopefully help secure her secrecy with regards to them being Voskon. He could track anything through the forest, but there was almost no way he’d be able to find a human in the middle of this busy town. Suddenly, he remembered that Hester had mentioned knowing the tavern owners.
When he went to collect their meal, which had been bundled into a small basket, he left word with the owner--Marco, he thought his name was--that Tes was well and they were more than grateful should Hester come in. With a soft parting thanks, he made his way back upstairs. As he neared the door to their rented room, he paused to make sure there was still no screaming coming from Tes’ room. With a relieved sigh, he headed into the room, more than eager to be with Kijah again.
He flashed her a wide smile, his eyes lighting up the moment he saw her. Barely able to tear his gaze away from her, he moved to set the basket onto the small table. “Tes seems to be doing alright,” he said rather cheerfully, smiling wanly. “Or at least she hasn’t eaten the healer.”

Just so you understand, Kijah is having an inner battle as usual LMFAO She will speak to herself for her own thoughts, her inner self will be in italics. It will begin with **** and end with **** that way you can tell when she starts and stops her little discussion/battle.
Kijah felt the emptiness of the room engulf her when Traf left. Now that she didn't have Traf to focus on the pain of her shoulder swept over her. She gritted her teeth, cursing herself for removing the compress, she needed the heat on it, not create heat between Traf and herself.
****
It was fun though, you gotta admit Kij, you liked the kiss. You saw his eyes, he enjoyed it too. Look at how hard it was for him to leave you.
Kijah shook her head. " No..I'm trying to go to fast here. "
Are you uncomfortable with what you did, or were about to do?
"No!"
Then apparently you aren't going too fast, you aren't complaining, he didn't complain. Trust yourself.
"I dunno what to do, it just happened, it came over me all of a sudden."
Did you want it Kij? If you could have, would you have carried it further Kij?
"Yes!" She didn't even have to think about that one. "I love him. He is my mate, I want to be with him like no other. Before him, I never even wanted to be near a male, much less want to be held and touched as he does me. When I saw him the shield I usually forced up around males couldn't go up with him. I didn't even want it up, the minute I saw him, well I just wanted him."
Kij, are you sure without a shadow of a doubt he is your One?
"Yes."
Years from now, you would have no regrets for settling so quickly?
"I have nothing to regret with him!!"
Then let it go, don't think and second guess yourself with him all the time. Trust him...
"I do trust him, more than anything!"
Then why did you think twice about telling him about Bi'Taq and Ah'li? Why were you so afraid?
"Why was I so afraid to tell him about Bi'Taq and Ah'li? I was ashamed thats why. You know damn well that was the worse experience in my life."
Did he turn you away? Did he act like you had the plague? No! He held you, he understood you. He loves you Kij, you gotta let stuff like this go. Its not something that will be fast, but you have to freely let it go, don't hold it back. Trust him, trust your self, your feelings for him. They are strong, he is your one Kij, and you are his "Little Wolf" bask in that. Nothing and no one can take that away from you.
" I do love him, and trust him, more than anything."

Kijah shook her head again and laughed, it seemed as time went on her thoughts sounded more and more like her mum was sitting here with her. The compress was starting to get cool to her so she went to add more water to the kettle. She wasn't sure how long her wolf had been gone or how long she sat there like that but it must have been a while. She wondered how Tes was doing and if she could have brought herself to do it she would have gone over to check on her herself. No sooner than that thought crossed her mind however than she heard the door start to open and Traf entered the room. She looked up and damn near melted at the grin he flashed her. Damn he needs to stop that or I will never eat. She smiled when she heard that Tes was resting well. She hoped the medicine that the healer gave Tes would let her rest peacefully through the night.

Traf couldn’t help but grin wider when he saw her smile. Her happiness was infectious. She was so beautiful. He wanted nothing more than to put his arms around her and have her lips on his once more, and it took a great deal of willpower to remember that he had promised to take care of her. She needed to eat to heal that shoulder, as he did if he wanted the dull ache in his ribs to end anytime soon. As much as he loved being intoxicated by her, he hoped that eventually some of this heat would dissipate. It was wildly distracting, and it made him worry about his ability to protect her. He slowly rolled his eyes up to glance at her again, drinking in the sight of her, her hair like fire as the sunlight streaming in the window caught it. His breath caught in his throat. Yeah, something needs to change, and soon.
He quickly turned his attention to the basket, distributing its contents--portions of bread and cold meat that must have been left over from the previous night’s dinner and an apple almost the size of his fist--over the small table. The last thing to emerge from the basket was a small bottle of some darker red liquid. He uncorked the bottle and sniffed at the contents, discovering a rather sweet but undeniably alcoholic scent. He’d chosen the elven wine as he wasn’t much of a drinker, and Kijah didn’t seem like the type for harder liquor like the other ales offered.
After a bit of searching, he drew his knife from his pack where it sat on the table beside the basket. He deftly sliced the apple into two halves and then left the blade to rest on the table. Smiling a little to himself, he circled around the table to pull out one of the two chairs tucked under it, and stood there, waiting for Kijah. “Come and eat, love,” he said, eyes alight.
